Keep Kashmir connected

Kashmir is under the tight grip of cold wave where the three-decade old records were surpassed in this winter season, but when it comes to the facilities that are important to combat the present weather conditions, the people are getting least facilities like inadequate electricity as the power supply continue to play hide and seek, thereby giving tough times to the consumers across the Valley. The situation is no different in the City areas where the people have been witnessing unscheduled power cuts, for which the consumers are being blamed as it is being claimed that the power cuts are the overloading and other related things. However, the bone-chilling weather condition is turning the situation more difficult for the people as amidst the severe cold; the power paucity is affecting the normal life in the Valley as the gadgets being used to boil the water have become of no use. The present circumstances can only be changed when the government intends to ensure power supply as per the schedule. Most of the time, there is no adherence to the power schedule, which simultaneously lands the common masses in trouble. At this juncture, there is a need to improve the power scenario for the wellbeing of the consumers so that they could heave a sigh of relief. The time has come when the concerned Power Development Department (PDD) needs to stop blaming the consumers and take steps in the right direction to resolve the genuine grievances of the people by providing them adequate electricity.
