Gulmarg, Jan 12: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that Sonamarg like tourist destination will also become another winter sports destination in coming 5-years.
Talking to reporters at ski resort Gulmarg, the chief minister Omar Abdullah said that efforts will be made to ensure Sonamarg like tourist destination will turn into winter sports destination in coming 5-years.
“I will try my best to ensure that in the next 5-years Sonamarg also becomes like Gulmarg and becomes another winter sports destination,” he said.
Terming tourism the ‘backbone’ of J&K’s economy, he said more tourists mean more earning for people. “Today I am here to record a programme so that it helps in the promotion of this famous tourist destination,” he said.
About Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tomorrow visit, the chief minister Omar Abdullah said that all arrangement have been put in place in connection with PM Modi’s Kashmir visit.
