Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, due to the presence of stray dogs, has once again witnessed an awful incident that forced a man to climb a car stopper pole in the commercial Hub Lal Chowk in order to save himself from the number of dogs chasing him. The video of the incident has also gone viral on the social media platforms, indicating the difficult situation being faced by the people due to the presence of the number of stray dogs, especially in the evening and morning hours. It has become too difficult to traverse through the Srinagar areas, especially in the Old City where the number of stray dogs can be seen roaming and chasing the people every time. The stray dogs chase the people including children, making the situation too difficult for them to come out of their homes. Not only in the morning or evening hours, the people fear to come out of their homes in the broad-daylight as well as these stray dogs chase the people, who have been pleading to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and address the issue at an earliest. During the evening hours amidst the power cuts, the people fear to come out of their homes and bring essentials for them. The sterilization process is the only way out to tackle the situation and thus the concerned Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) must pace up the work in this regard and ensure that the process is completed without any further delay to bring respite to the people.
