Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory is all set to witness the maiden budget session while the elected government led by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been keen to get all the stakeholders on board to ensure inclusive governance under his leadership. For the three straight days, the Chief Minister has held a series of meetings in Jammu and Kashmir and spoke with a number of stakeholders and sought their suggestions days ahead of the budget session. The process, which involves engaging stakeholders from various sectors of society, marks a significant step towards ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of the region’s people are effectively addressed in the upcoming fiscal policy. For decades, Jammu and Kashmir’s unique political and social landscape has made it distinct from the rest of India.
