Ganderbal, Feb 12: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that he discussed Kathua and Sopore incidents with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his recent meeting with him in New Delhi.
The Chief Minister while talking to the reporters here in Central Kashmir said that his meeting with the Home Minister went well. “Multiple issues, including Kathua and Sopore incidents, were discussed.
We have sought transparent probe into both the cases. We are hopeful that those involved in these incidents will be dealt with strictly,” he said.
“We discussed restoration of J&K’s Statehood and also the upcoming Budget Session of J&K Assembly,” he said.
Asked about the free 200 units of electricity as promised by the National Conference (NC), the Chief Minister said, “Wait for the budget.”
Pertinently, the Chief Minister visited Beehman, Ganderbal to meet the fire-affected family, who lost their home in a devastating blaze three days ago.
The fire damaged a residential house, leaving the family displaced and in distress.
During his visit, Omar expressed his solidarity with the affected family and assured them of the government’s support in rebuilding their home and providing necessary assistance.
The Chief Minister also directed local authorities to expedite relief measures and provide immediate help to those affected by the incident.
He was accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and other officials. (KNO)
