The people across Jammu and Kashmir are keeping a close eye on the upcoming budget, which is expected to be unveiled on March 07, 2025 as the maiden budget in the Union Territory will be presented after hectic deliberations with the number of delegations including the elected representatives across the Union Territory. A series of pre-budget consultations have been held by the Chief Minister himself to get the feedback from the people associated with different trade, business and other sectors. Since all the sectors have been taken on board, it is expected to be a surprising budget this year as the government has for the first time taken all the people on board to ensure that the aspirations of the people are accommodated through the budget. This budget is quite exciting for the common masses, as it is believed that the promises made by the ruling National Conference (NC) in their election manifesto are also incorporated in the budget. The major promises that are expected to be included in the budget are free units of electricity, enhancement in the ration quota and other related things, which hold a significant place in the daily lives of the common masses. While the pre-budget consultations have concluded in the Valley, the deliberations have now started in the Jammu division to get the feedback from the people there and accommodate their aspirations as well. However, it would be interesting to see whether the government will come up to the expectations of the people by announcing the decision as per the promises done with them. The first week of next month is crucial with the people expecting some relief from the increasing electricity tariff as well as the meagre amount of ration they get.
