Rajouri, Feb 15: A signature campaign was held on Saturday in Manjakote, Rajouri which was organized by MLA Thannamandi Muzaffar Iqbal Khan.
The event attracted a huge crowd of over 3,000 people, all united in their demand for the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. Notable support came from MLA Surankote Choudhary Mohd Akram, who was present to lend his voice to the movement, demonstrating the solidarity among local leaders on this important issue.
The main goal of the signature campaign was to remind the central government of the people’s desire to have their statehood status reinstated. Each participant signed a document clearly stating, “We want our statehood status back.” This peaceful gathering highlighted the collective resolve of the citizens to reclaim their political rights and autonomy.
MLA Thannamandi Muzaffar Iqbal Khan has been pivotal in leading similar campaigns. His consistent efforts reflect the strong sentiment within the community regarding statehood. During today’s gathering, he made it clear that if the central government fails to respond to their demands, strong protests will be organized throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
In addition to advocating for statehood, MLA Muzaffar Iqbal Khan announced that a Government College is soon expected to be established in Manjakote, as he has discussed the matter with higher authorities. The Chief Minister has confirmed that a degree college will be allocated to the Manjakote block, which is a positive step for education in the area.
