Kashmir’s next revolution will rise from its fields

Decline in Hajj applications deserves attention

With the preparations almost finalized to conduct the annual board examinations in the Valley, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has rejected the forms of 22 students of 10th standard of a private school here. The forms were rejected as the school they are affiliated with, lack the registration, thus preventing students from receiving their roll number slips and, consequently, from appearing in the exam. However, the issue was highlighted by the elected representatives and others at the social media and other platforms, thus attracting the government’s attention in this regard, who now have promised to secure their academic year from getting wasted. Following the hue and cry regarding denying of exam registration forms to 22 students of 10th standard, the government has now stated that it will not allow anybody to waste their academic year. However, it needs to be understood that such a complaint has been received for the second time as earlier one more school has put the academic year of their students at stake by not clearing the issue of their registration at the apt time. The private schools need to prioritise these things and ensure that the academic year of the students is not put at stake at the time of examinations. Moreover, the government needs to act tough against such an issue and take stringent measures against the schools without registrations so that the career of students is not put at risk. It is high time to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future for the sake of the students enrolled in the private educational institutions across the Valley.
