Srinagar, Mar 8: Group Centre, CRPF, Srinagar proudly celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 at its campus in Humhama for two days, on March 7th and 8th, with great enthusiasm. The event honored the bravery, dedication, and contributions of women personnel in safeguarding the nation. It was attended by the wives of senior officials and the families of CRPF jawans residing inside the campus.
The celebration began with an inspiring speech delivered by Smt. Sangeeta Kumar, President of RCWA, GC, CRPF, Srinagar. She applauded the dedication, strength, and sacrifices of CRPF’s women personnel. Addressing the gathering, the President of RCWA emphasized the crucial role played by women, acknowledged their achievements across various fields, and reaffirmed CRPF’s commitment to the empowerment and well-being of its women personnel and their families. In her speech, she highlighted that the motto of CRPF, “Service and Loyalty,” is exemplified by the brave CRPF Mahilas.
As part of the celebration, various activities were organized to encourage participation and camaraderie among women. A major highlight of the event was a cookery competition, where participants showcased their culinary skills with creativity, which eventually turned out to be a representation of different Indian cuisines. Additionally, Mehndi and Rangoli competitions, cultural performances, and fun games added to the vibrancy of the occasion, fostering a sense of unity among CRPF families. The women who participated in the competitions were awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, while consolation prizes were also given to other participants.
While concluding, Sangeeta Kumar thanked all attendees for their participation and reiterated RCWA’s dedication to women’s empowerment.
