Jammu, Mar 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly, Sunil Sharma, on Tuesday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership for ending terrorism, separatism, and stone-pelting in Jammu and Kashmir.
His remarks came in response to the dissociation of two Hurriyat outfits—Jammu & Kashmir People’s Movement and Democratic Political Movement—from separatism.
“Two organizations have severed ties with separatism, which is a welcome step. This has been possible only due to the strong willpower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who tackled terrorism, separatism, and stone pelting with determination. He banned their organizations and put their leaders behind bars. That is why such outfits are now breaking away from separatism and joining the mainstream,” Sharma told reporters in Jammu.
He also criticized Congress and regional political parties, accusing them of appeasing separatist organizations during their tenure. (KINS)
