All entry level posts of GMC B’la referred to JKPSC: Govt

Jammu, Apr 9: Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday said that all entry level posts of Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla have been referred to JKPSC for advertisement and selection.
Replying to a question of Irfan Hafiz Lone, the Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakeena Itoo said that all the entry level faculty posts of GMC Baramulla have been referred to JKPSC for advertisement and selection of suitable candidates.
“292 vacancies in the non-gazetted/paramedical category from the Directorate of Family Welfare, Maternity and Child Health (MCH), and Immunization have also been referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (J&K SSB) for recruitment. The Department is also in process of operating of wait list in respect of 91 selected medical officers, whose services will also be utilized in the un-deserved areas across the UT of J&K. Besides, 181 numbers of posts of Medical Officers are still to be received from Jammu and Kashmir Public service Commission. Upon receiving the selections, the selectee doctors will be posted at the health institutions experiencing staff shortage,” she said.
“Recruitment to all other vacant posts is under consideration in the Department,” she added further.
“To improve healthcare services in the Wagoora-Kreeri constituency of Baramulla considerable PHCs, NTPHCs & SCc have been upgraded as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Primary healthcare services are provided for ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare. These include:- Free screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as Diabetes, Hypertension, and Cancers (Oral, Breast, Cervical). Essential medicines and Diagnostics services being provided, with 175 drugs & 39 diagnostics at PHCs and 96 drugs & 14 diagnostics at SCs available free of cost, preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare services, focusing on early detection and effective management of diseases, health awareness and wellness initiatives, encouraging communities to adopt healthier lifestyles,” she added.
“The SDH Tangmarg is functioning from Govt. building, with all facilities are available. Construction of an additional labour room has been taken up under Capex and is targeted for completion in 2025-26,” Itoo said.
“CHC Pattan is functioning from Govt. Building with all the facilities available viz, USG, ECG, CBC, X-Ray, Urine examination, CR System, Dental Unit and functional OT and PHC Tarzoo is functioning 24×7 In Govt. Buliding with all necessary facilities available viz, ECG, X-ray, Urine Analyzer, CBC, Dental unit etc,” she added. (KNO)
