Budgam, Aug 30: The hailstorm, which occurred in many areas of Central Kashmir’s Budgam during the intervening night, has caused damages to the agriculture and horticulture.
The hailstorm has damaged crops in different villages of Charar-e-Sharief creating panic among the farming community.
“Initially the hailstorm occurred in many villages of Charar-e-Sharief Tehsil particularly at Pakherpora , Lolipora, Kanidajan, Darwan, Chalyan, Branwar and other areas and resulted in massive damage to apple and pear crop,” the locals informed.
They said the hailstorm damaged the crop to a great extent and in many villages.
The paddy too got damaged in many villages.
The farmers appealed to the district administration to assess damage due to hailstorm and have demanded immediate relief for the same. (KNT)
