Srinagar, May 13: Following the reopening of educational institutes in non-border districts of Jammu and Kashmir, School Education Department Tuesday said that all schools in the border districts shall reopen on Wednesday except for those falling in the proximity of border zones.
Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) said, “All government and private schools of zone Gurez shall remain closed tomorrow on May-14-2025 as a precautionary measure. However, teachers will resume their duties by tomorrow. Schools in all other zones of district Bandipora shall remain open.”
It also said that “All the schools in district Kupwara shall reopen on May-14-2025 except the schools in Karnah sub division Keran, Machil, Budnambal, Jumagand and Kumkadi where class work will remain suspended.”
DSEK further said all government and private schools of zone Uri, Jhulla, Chandanwari and Boniyar (Sub division Uri) shall remain closed tomorrow on May-14-2025 as a precautionary measure. “Schools in all other zones of district Baramulla shall remain open.”
In the meantime, the School Education Department said that in case of Jammu division, all government and private schools in Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch and Samba Distt will remain closed tomorrow on May-14-2025.
“However, all government and private schools in district Udhampur and Bani, Basholi, Mahanpur, Bhaddu, Malhar and Billawar zones of Kathua district shall open on May-14-2025,” it reads.
Meanwhile, University of Kashmir (KU) in a fresh communique has said that it has decided to postpone all exams slated till May-18.
Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has also ordered postponement of exams slated till May-16. Besides, the authorities have ordered continuation of online classes till further orders. (KNO)
