Coronavirus: Active cases go up in last one week in Valley

Srinagar, Sep 1: Despite bed occupancy and Covid death rate showing a significant dip from the last few months, active cases in the Kashmir division have once again started increasing.
As per the details available, the active cases in Jammu and Kashmir have increased from 1054 to 1318 since 23 August.
The details also reveal that active cases are mainly increasing in Kashmir division, while the number of cases continues to decline in Jammu division.
Since 23 August, the active cases in Kashmir division have increased from 682 to 1014 cases while in Jammu division the cases have decreased from 372 to 305 during the period.
Earlier, in Kashmir only Srinagar district had over 100 active cases, however, in the past few days, Baramulla and Budgam districts have also joined the list of having more than 100 positive Covid-19 cases.
As per the data, no district in Jammu has over 100 active Covid-19 cases.
Shopian and Kulgam districts in Kashmir division and Udhampur, Kathua and Samba districts in Jammu division have less than 10 active cases.
Kathua and Samba have four active cases followed by Shopian, Kulgam and Udhampur with seven active cases in each district.
In Jammu division, Jammu has the highest active cases with 91 patients, Doda 90, Kishtwar 49, Rajouri 27, Poonch 12, Ramban 11 and Reasi 10.
In Kashmir division, Srinagar with 523 has the highest active cases followed by Budgam 142, Baramulla 141,Pulwama and Ganderbal 47 each, Bandipora 42, Kupwara 33 and Anantnag 25 .
So far Jammu and Kashmir has reported 3,25,529 positive cases, among them 3,19,801 have recovered 4,409 have died while 1,318 are active. (KNO)
