Srinagar, May 29: Kashmir’s Chief Cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday said the private ventures are the key element for economic revival and employment generation of Kashmir.
Speaking at the inauguration of first ‘Aslam Chicken’ outlet in Karan Nagar Srinagar, Mirwaiz said private ventures not only beautifies the landscape of the city but also creates job opportunities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the business community of Kashmir to invest into vital sectors like education, agriculture, tourism, and hospitality. “Due to the limited educational infrastructure and opportunities, our students are forced to migrate outside J&K for higher studies. If the private sector is further improved, we can strengthen our institutions and reduce this outflow,” he said.
Mirwaiz further encouraged the younger generation to work with honesty, hard work and dedication, adding that the entrepreneurship and ethical business practices can lay the foundation for a resourceful economy in the valley.
Notably, the event marked the launch of Delhi’s popular food brand Aslam Chicken in Kashmir. The outlet was inaugurated jointly by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Delhi-based founder Muhammad Aslam, and Irfan Maqbool, who facilitated the brand’s entry into the region.
Aslam Chicken, known for its rich butter-marinated grilled chicken, is expected to draw food lovers from across the city. The owners hinted at plans to expand across Kashmir in the near future. (KNO)
