Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) Urs observed with religious fervour

Srinagar, May 31: Member of Parliament (MP) from Srinagar and senior National Conference (NC) leader, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi on Saturday rejected the reports regarding his resignation from the party, saying he doesn’t have answers for “rumours”.
“I don’t keep any secrets and don’t change my statements,” Ruhullah, told reporters here.
However, he didn’t react to the query over his posts on X, formerly Twitter.
Asked about reports of his resignation, the MP said, “These are just rumours and I don’t have answers for these rumours.”
Mehdi said his efforts, along with his party and the incumbent government, are to fulfil the commitments and promises made to the people regarding the political agenda and public sentiments. “We need to take steps over it and fulfil those commitments without wasting time,” he stressed.
The senior NC leader said there is a need to work hard internally to revive the tourism sector. “I don’t think the foreign delegations have the mandate to do so. We need to work internally in this regard. The way Kashmir has been portrayed post-Pahalgam attack, we need to fight against the bogus story,” he said while replying to a query.
The MP called for highlighting the “factual story” of Kashmir, which he said is a place known for its hospitality. “Kashmiris have always respected tourists and sacrificed their lives for them. The biggest example of such is Syed Adil Hussain, who sacrificed his life while saving the tourists. We need to put efforts to promote tourism here,” Mehdi added. (KNO)
