Road accident on Jammu-Udhampur Highway leaves two dead, one injured

Srinagar, Jun 11: The Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) Wednesday said that some private schools were violating Jammu & Kashmir School education Act, 2002 by charging admission fee from the students.
The FFRC further said that such schools were not providing proper receipt through methods other than the standard banking process to hide the illegal transaction of money
The Chairperson of FFRC Justice (Retd) Sunil Hali in a circular said, “Complaints from parents and students are pouring in regarding charging of admission fee by private schools in violation of the Jammu & Kashmir School education Act, 2002 (as amended).”
“Despite various orders/directions issued by the Committee from time to time regarding the subjects in light of provisions of ibid Act and rules made thereunder,” it reads.
FFRC further said, “It has also come to fore that some private schools are still receiving admission fee and in most of the cases without providing proper receipt through methods other than the standard banking process, to hide the illegal transaction of money.”
“Charging of admission fee by private schools is grave violation of the Act and directions passed by the Committee from time to time and warrants strict action under law against the erring school,” the circular said.
FFRC added, “In order to check the menace and stop the exploitation, the parents/students are requested to inform this office through official email or on official telephone numbers so that necessary action is taken against such erring schools in accordance with law.”
“The identity of such parents and students will be kept confidential,” the committee said. (KNO)
