Srinagar, Jun 25: With the scorching temperatures, the students of schools and colleges are observing early summer vacations, however, private preparatory schools—Kindergartens in Kashmir division on the contrary are functioning in the ongoing severe heatwave—thus putting the lives of kids enrolled at high risk.
Parents of the kids said that the management of the kindergartens are Upto minting money only. “They are hardly bothered about the well-being of the innocent kids.”
Some of the parents of those wards studying in private crèches said that the lackadaisical approach of the government is giving a freehand to the owners of these preparatory schools to mint hefty amounts from the parents.
One of the parent’s said that, “My son is studying in one of the leading crèches of Srinagar and I have requested the management of the school to announce summer break for them but they never pay heed to it.”
“There is no cooling system or fans available for the kids and it seems that the management of the kindergarten is bothered about their money only, they are hardly bothered about the wellbeing of the kids,” he said
Another parent said, “While the kindergartens are ungoverned, there is no accountability to the actions of kindergartens.”
“The government must regulate and devise a mechanism for the kindergartens so that the lives and health of the innocent kids is protected,” he said.
Previously, the School Education Department had said that they were in the process of monitoring the crèches in Kashmir.
Pertinently, the private preparatory schools—Kindergartens in Kashmir division are functioning without any regulatory authority and mechanism and continue to go un-governed—thus raising a question on the functioning of the authorities.
