Bandipora, Aug 19: The Bandipora district in north Kashmir has been without an Additional Deputy Development Commissioner (ADDC) for the past four months, causing delays in official work and affecting the public services in the district.
The absence of an ADDC has left many development projects and administrative tasks on hold, according to the officials.
Citizens have also expressed concerns over the slowdown in public service delivery.
A local resident, Farooq Ahmed said, “Without the ADDC, many government services are delayed. People are facing difficulties in getting timely help for their problems.”
Another citizen, Rubina Bano, added, “The development work has stopped in many areas. We hope the authorities fill the vacancy soon so that work can resume.”
An official from the district administration stated, “The post has been vacant for several months now. We are awaiting orders from higher authorities for the appointment.”
The delay in appointment is also impacting coordination between different departments in the district. Several pending files and approvals remain unattended.
A social activist, Imran Ahmad, said, “The absence of an ADDC is affecting the overall governance in Bandipora. It is important that the post be filled quickly to avoid further disruption.”
Meanwhile, MLA Bandipora Nizam Udin Bhat has also appealed to the government to fill the post as soon as possible to prevent further inconvenience to the public. (KNO)
