Budgam, Aug 22: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Friday chaired the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee (DLAMC) meeting and issued a series of directions to concerned departments for achieving complete Aadhaar saturation in the district.
DDC directed PO ICDS to ensure that Aadhaar numbers of all children in the 0–5 age group are updated at Anganwadi centres without delay.
He instructed the CEO Budgam to organise mega Aadhaar enrolment and updation camps in all Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges, so that no student is left out.
He further directed all SDMs to closely monitor Aadhaar enrolment drives in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that 100% students in both schools and colleges are Aadhaar enrolled and updated.
DDC ordered that SDMs and CEO Budgam shall act as nodal officers for this purpose and take responsibility for achieving saturation targets.
He also directed BDOs in rural areas and EOs in urban areas to hold mass Aadhaar enrolment camps at block and municipal levels.
Dr Bilal stressed that during these camps, Date of Birth (DOB) certificates must be issued on the spot to facilitate enrolment of left-out children and residents.
He further instructed that Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBU) at 5 and 15 years of age must be ensured through awareness drives in schools, with teachers mobilised for the purpose. School Education department was asked to match student records with Aadhaar details including name, DoB, phone number and email, which is crucial for Board and competitive examinations.
DDC directed that all applications of 18+ residents on the State Aadhaar Portal must be verified within 30 days, and training be provided to officials for efficient handling.
He asked departments to identify suitable government premises and high-footfall locations for establishing new Aadhaar enrolment centres or organising special camps.
Dr Bilal stressed on the need to encourage residents who have not updated their Aadhaar in the last 10 years to validate their demographic details and update Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents.
He also called for promotion of the mAadhaar mobile app for verification.
DDC said that all departments must work in close coordination and in a time-bound manner so that Budgam achieves 100% Aadhaar saturation. He stressed that Aadhaar linkage is crucial not only for effective service delivery but also for enabling students and residents to benefit from government schemes, scholarships and other essential services.
Besides, ADC Budgam, CEO Budgam, all SDMS, ACD, DySP HQs, all Tehsildars, all EOs and representatives of UIDAI were present in the meeting.
