Qazigund, Sep 23: Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), GP Singh, on Tuesday chaired a high-level security review meeting at Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Senior CRPF officers deliberated on the prevailing security situation and strategies to strengthen counter-terrorism operations in the Valley.
In a post on X, the CRPF said: “At Qazigund, Anantnag (J&K), @gpsinghips chaired a high-level strategic meeting attended by senior CRPF officers, reviewing the present security landscape and measures to bolster counter-terrorism operations for maintaining harmony and security in the Valley.”
The DG, on the same day, felicitated CRPF troopers for their exemplary role in recent counter-terrorist operations.
“At Qazigund, Anantnag, @gpsinghips, DG CRPF, felicitated the valiant troopers of CRPF for their exemplary role in two major counter-terrorist operations: at Akhal-Lammer forests (August 1–12) and Gudder forest (September 8) in Devsar, Kulgam. These operations led to the elimination of one local terrorist and two others, including a foreign terrorist,” a CRPF spokesperson said.
Commending their extraordinary courage, unwavering resolve, and devotion to duty, the DG extended his heartfelt wishes for their future endeavours.
Later, DG Singh joined the troopers for a Badakhana, strengthening the bond of camaraderie and solidarity. (KNO)
