Jammu, Oct 2: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday launched its centenary year celebration programs in Jammu & Kashmir, in line with the rest of the country.
These programs will continue throughout the year. As part of this, centenary year-related events were organized in all districts of the Jammu division.
A large number of Swayamsevaks participated in these events wearing full uniform. The programs featured demonstrations by Swayamsevaks of physical training, formations, exercises, and yoga postures.
In Jammu city, the main programs took place at Top Sherkhania and Patoli, adjacent to Janipur. At Top Sherkhania, Prant Seh-Sanghchalak Dr. Vikrant Sharma performed the traditional Shastra Pujan (weapon worship) in the presence of Chief Guest Sahil Ji Maharaj, Maa Chandiwale, and District Karyawah Varun Jamwal.
Meanwhile, in the program held at the park in Patoli, Prant Pracharak Mukesh Kumar performed the Shastra Pujan in the presence of Chief Guest, retired Deputy Commissioner Mohan Lal Raina.
Following this, Swayamsevaks conducted a Path Sanchalan (route march) through the Janipur-Patoli area.
At several locations along the route, local residents showered flowers on the Swayamsevaks. The route passed through areas such as Tali Morh, Ram Bihar Colony, Shant Nagar, Indira Nagar, Hari Singh Basti, and Ambedkar Basti. People from all walks of society participated in both events in significant numbers.
At Top Sherkhania, Dr. Vikrant Sharma, speaking as the main speaker, highlighted the RSS’s journey in the country and the region from 1925 to 2025. He stated that even today, the Sangh continues to pursue its goal of social development through individual development.
Chief Guest Sahil Ji Maharaj, in his brief address, urged people to attend RSS shakhas along with their families. He also highlighted the contributions made by RSS Swayamsevaks in Jammu & Kashmir.
District Karyawah Varun Jamwal concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
In the second event held at Janipur-Patoli, Prant Pracharak Mukesh Kumar addressed the swayamsevaks and attendees. He extended greetings to all swayamsevaks and society on the occasion of Vijayadashami and the 100th anniversary of the RSS.
He noted that the day also marks the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, and paid tribute to them for giving a new direction to society.
Mukesh Kumar recounted the 100-year history of the RSS, noting that while the organization has faced many ups and downs, it has never strayed from its goal. Even today, it remains committed to character-building through its shakhas.
He emphasized that transformation of society begins with individual development and highlighted the concept of “Panch Parivartan” (Five Transformations). He called on every individual in society to follow this path. In this context, he also touched on key themes such as social harmony, family awareness, environmental responsibility, self-awareness, and civic duties.
