Srinagar, Oct 8: Acting tough against the social crimes, J&K police have arrested 04 gamblers in Ganderbal and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on a reliable information regarding gambling activities at Badurkund, a police party of Police Station Ganderbal raided the specific spot and apprehended four gamblers. They have been identified as Ghulam Mohd Mir son of Mohd Jamal Mir resident of Buderkund, Mahraj Ud Din Khan son of Noor Mohd Khan and Irshad Ahmad Shoda son of Ghulam Mohd Shoda both residents of Giraj, Lateef Ahmad Shoda son of Ghulam Qadir Shoda resident of Shah Sahib Saloora Ganderbal.
Officers have seized stake money of Rs 8590/- and playing cards from their possession. They have been arrested and a case FIR No. 165/ 2025, under relevant sections Gambling Act stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation taken up.
J&K Police remains committed to upholding law and order and will continue its crackdown on illegal activities in the area. Person found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law.
