Srinagar, Oct 8: Senior National Conference leader and for Agriculture, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Cooperatives, Javid Ahmad Dar on Wednesday said that the discussion with Congress is going on and the party’s core committee will finalise the candidates for the upcoming by-election.
The Minister was replying to a query on finalising the candidature for the Budgam Assembly seat.
Speaking to reporters, Javid Dar said that the election date for by-polls was announced a few days ago only. “It takes time to follow the procedures and other things and it is too early to say anything in this regard”.
“I believe the discussion with the Congress is going on and NC’s core committee will take a final call to choose candidates,” he said.
By-election to Budgam and Nagrota Assembly seats will be held on November 11, while counting of votes will take place on November 14. (KNO)
