Kulgam, Oct 9: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Sakeena Itoo Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed 100-bedded KGBV girls’ hostel at D.H. Pora.
Constructed by the R&B Department at the cost of Rs. 2.85 crore, the hostel will provide safe and comfortable accommodation for ST and underprivileged girl students, promoting education and empowering young girls in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized the government’s focus on enhancing educational infrastructure and stressed that empowering girls is key to building a better future.
Earlier, she also laid the foundation stone for the construction of additional classrooms at Government High School Watoo. She highlighted that the government has initiated and completed several projects to strengthen the education ecosystem in the district.
