Manasbal, Oct 30: The Wullar Manasbal Development Authority (WMDA), in collaboration with the District Police Ganderbal, Thursday conducted a mega sanitation drive around the picturesque Manasbal Lake to promote cleanliness, environmental conservation, and community awareness among people.
The drive was aimed to preserve the lake’s ecological balance and sensitize locals and visitors about the importance of maintaining a pollution-free environment so that tourist get a pollution free experience.
Officers and officials of the WMDA, Police, residents and volunteers participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness campaign, which covered the lakefront, Manasbal Park and adjoining pathways.
CEO, WMDA, Ahsanul Haq Chishti said that the sanitation drive is part of the ongoing conservation and rejuvenation programme being implemented to protect Manasbal Lake. He appreciated the active participation of District Police Ganderbal and the local community for their valuable contribution towards maintaining the lake’s pristine charm.
He also urged citizens to adopt sustainable waste management practices and to take collective responsibility for keeping Manasbal Lake clean, vibrant, and ecologically healthy for tourists to make their visits memorable.
