Shopian, Nov 1: District Administration Shopian Saturday organised an exposure visit for 25 youth of the district to the Industrial Estates Gagren and Aglar under the Youth Engagement Programme.
During the visit, the participants were familiarized with processes and operations of various manufacturing and service-based Industries operating within these industrial estates. They gained valuable insights into the supply chain mechanisms and functioning of diverse industrial units.
The participants were also exposed to horticulture-based Industries at Industrial Estate Aglar, where they obtained valuable insights into Controlled Atmosphere (CA) stores, grading and packing lines, as well as the manufacturing of packaging materials including cardboard cartons and fruit trays.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the youth to interact with successful industrial unit holders, who shared their entrepreneurial experiences and success stories, inspiring participants to explore self-employment avenues and innovation in local industries.
Moreover, the participants were also sensitized about different schemes being implemented through the District Industries Centre which are aimed at facilitating self-reliance and economic empowerment.
The youth expressed gratitude to the District Administration for organising such an informative and inspiring visit, and conveyed hope that similar exposure programmes would be held regularly to enhance their understanding of local Industrial opportunities and entrepreneurship.
