Government examining daily wagers’ issues: Javed Rana

Srinagar, Nov 13: Jammu and Kashmir Minister Javed Ahmad Rana said the government is actively examining the issues concerning daily wage workers and that a committee formed under the Chief Secretary has completed most of its work.
Rana said the matter of daily wagers is not limited to a single department.
“According to the orders of the Chief Minister, a committee was constituted under the leadership of the Chief Secretary last year.
The committee has almost completed its exercise, and once the recommendations are submitted, the government will try to act on them,” he said as per KNS.
He said the government considers the demands of daily wagers genuine and is committed to resolving them. “We are working on the issue. There are difficulties, but I assure you that the problems of daily wagers will be addressed,” he said.
On questions about delays in the committee’s report, the minister said the report is expected to be made public soon. He added that a geological and mining team had also conducted a detailed survey, and its findings have been submitted to the authorities.
Responding to allegations by the National Conference regarding “backdoor entries,” Rana said the government will not go into what happened in previous administrations. “The government is verifying who is genuine and at what level. A committee has been constituted for this purpose,” he said.
Rana also welcomed several new members into the National Conference, saying the party’s principles and programmes continue to attract people across Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
