Srinagar, Dec 10: Asserting that “Operation Sindoor” demonstrated India’s military preparedness and resolve, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday described its success as a key example of India’s balanced, precise and firm response capability.
While speaking at the 38th Infantry Commanders’ Conference at the Infantry School in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, General Dwivedi, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “Information warfare, cyber operations and space-based capabilities are emerging as decisive domains shaping the modern battlefield.”
He said, “The Army is undergoing a rapid transformation to become a future-ready force through technology-driven manpower reforms, streamlined capability development and organisational restructuring.”
The Army Chief said India’s strategic autonomy remains a core national principle and noted that the ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy continues to guide the country’s foreign and security approach.
He said military diplomacy is playing an increasingly important role in building trust and cooperation with partner nations.
While addressing the gathering the Director General Infantry said the Directorate is committed to continuous capability enhancement through doctrinal updates, indigenisation and professional military education.
Pertinently, the 2-day conference reviewed operational preparedness, force structure, capability development, training systems and welfare measures.
Senior commanders assessed ongoing projects and identified priority areas for shaping the Infantry’s future direction.
Key discussions focused on integrating emerging technologies, strengthening operational readiness and accelerating modernisation through indigenous solutions in line with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The conference also examined the implementation of organisational reforms aimed at improving operational efficiency and strategic mobility.
Initiatives such as Bhairav Battalions and drone platoons were noted as significant steps towards developing a network-enabled and technology-oriented Infantry force.
The event was attended by the Vice-Chief of Army Staff, Army Commanders, Infantry officers, regimental centre commandants and representatives from various Infantry formations. (KNO)
