Jammu, Dec 16: A meeting of Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Tuesday held under the Chairmanship of MLA, Ali Mohammad Sagar, at Assembly Complex here to discuss and examine the Audit Paras pertaining to PWD (JKPCC).
Legislators, Saifullah Mir, Baldev Raj Sharma, Shakti Raj Parihar, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Dr Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri, Showkat Hussain Ganie, Saif-ud-Din Bhat and Tanvir Sadiq besides Secretary, JKLA, Manoj Kumar Pandit were also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues pointed out in CAG’s audit paras number 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3. pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC).
Accountant General J&K, Tsewang Tharchin, highlighted the issues of audit paras.
Additional Chief Secretary, PWD, Anil Kumar Singh, also briefed the Committee about steps being taken to clear issues mentioned in the audit paras besides the present status of ongoing projects of the department.
Director, Finance (PWD) and MD, JKPCC briefed the present status of liabilities of JKPCC.
The members of Committee gave their valuable suggestions and raised their issues regarding audit paras besides working of the department.
The Chairman exhorted upon the officers of PWD to take concrete measures for completion of all ongoing projects. He also stressed on the importance of audit and evaluation of PSU’s to ensure transparency and accountability in their operations.
The Committee unanimously decided and proposed the concerned department to submit a written detailed report to clear liabilities of JKPCC and there after the audit paras number 7.1 and 7.2 will be dropped.
Senior officers of concerned departments and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
