Srinagar, Dec 26: Jammu and Kashmir MLA from Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq on Friday said that the cabinet had already taken a decision on the reservation issue nearly 25 days ago and the file is currently pending approval at the Lok Bhavan.
Speaking to reporters, Sadiq said the rationalisation of reservation was part of his party’s manifesto and the government had completed its role in the process. “The cabinet has taken the decision and the file has been forwarded to the Lok Bhavan,” he said.
He said many young people might not be aware of the development, leading to confusion over the status of the issue. “There seems to be some misunderstanding, which needs to be clarified,” Sadiq said.
The MLA appealed to all stakeholders to come together and urge the Lok Bhavan to clear the file at the earliest so that the decision taken by the cabinet can be implemented.
“The file is with the Lok Bhavan, and it depends on them how quickly they act. Our request is that it should be approved without any delay,” he added. (KNS)
