Modi worked for all sections of society: BJP

Srinagar, Jan 5: BJP state spokesperson Rajni Sethi on Monday addressed a press conference in Srinagar, strongly criticising the leadership of opposition parties and asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked for all sections of society without discrimination on religious lines.
Rajni Sethi said that the Modi government has followed an inclusive approach and has never taken decisions on the basis of religion. She alleged that, in contrast, Kashmir based parties were making statements that promote communal division.
Targeting the chief minister Omar Abdullah, the BJP spokesperson claimed that he recently made remarks suggesting Muslim students were more intelligent while students from Jammu were “duffers”. She questioned why, according to her, such remarks were aimed at people of Jammu and alleged that Hindus of the region were being targeted through such statements.
She further claimed that Kashmiri Pandits migrated during the tenure of the National Conference government, holding the party responsible for their plight. Rajni Sethi also accused some political leaders of enjoying the benefits of India while praising Pakistan, and objected to statements where, according to her, certain leaders claim they cannot raise slogans like “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.
Without naming her directly, the BJP spokesperson also targeted Iltija Mufti, alleging that she had stated she would not accept Hindutva. Rajni Sethi further criticised the People’s Democratic Party leadership and questioned remarks attributed to a National Conference Member of Parliament, who, she claimed, had accused India of indulging in cultural invasion.
She said such statements create fear and confusion and asked how tourism would flourish if leaders project a hostile image. She alleged that such rhetoric indirectly harms the interests of Jammu and Kashmir and raises serious concerns about peace and stability.
Rajni Sethi said the BJP stands for national unity, peace, and development, and urged political leaders to refrain from statements that, according to her, damage communal harmony and the image of the region. [KNT]
