Baramulla, Jan 22: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Thursday chaired a meeting of Revenue Officers to review the progress of the digitization of land records and the Minor Irrigation Census in the district.
During the meeting, the concerned officers briefed the DC on the current status of digitization and the coverage achieved under the Minor Irrigation Census.
Emphasizing the need for timely and accurate data, the DC stated that digitization is a critical reform initiative aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and improved public service delivery.
Expressing concern over delays in certain areas, Minga Sherpa directed all concerned departments to complete the remaining digitization process within 15 days. He further directed all tehsildars to immediately initiate the digitization of all villages of the district, ensuring comprehensive and uniform coverage.
The DC instructed officers to strengthen field-level coordination, promptly remove bottlenecks, and maintain strict data accuracy. He also stressed that the Minor Irrigation Census is vital for planning sustainable water management and boosting agricultural development and must be completed within the stipulated timeline.
Officers were directed to submit regular progress reports to ensure strict compliance with the directions issued.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla and all tehsildars of district Baramulla.
