Srinagar, Oct 5: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, National Conference Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah, former chief ministers—Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti and other leaders condemned the killing of prominent chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo, owner of Bindroo Medicate and others here.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that he was deeply anguished to hear about the attack on Makhan Lal Bindroo, owner of Bindroo Medicate. “I strongly condemn this cowardly act. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice very soon,” he said.
In another tweet, he said, “I strongly condemn the killing of civilians Shri Virender Paswan and Mohd Shafi Lone by (militants). The barbaric act of killing innocent people is against humanity.”
He said militants “will never succeed in their nefarious designs, and those responsible for such heinous acts shall be brought to justice.”
“ My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief.”
The National Conference Party President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah also condemned the “brutal and dastardly killing of three civilians in Kashmir that took place within a span of few hours.”
Condemning the heinous killings in unequivocal terms, Dr Farooq said, “I’m extremely heartbroken to hear about the dastardly killing of noted businessman ML Bindroo ji, Mohammad Shafi Lone of Naidkhai Bandipora and a non local Virender Paswan. The heart wrenching mindless violence has saddened me. Such barbarism should be denounced downrightly at all levels.”
He said there is no humanity found in those who have orchestrated the blood bath. “Yet another childhood has been lost. Yet another family has to live in pain for perpetuity. There is no humanity to be found within those who perpetrate such heinous acts of inhuman, outrageous, and thunderous violence,” he said.
“The targeted attacks that took place within a few hours have devoured three precious lives. No sympathies can assuage the families who have lost their loved ones and no one could even remotely empathize with the calamity that has befallen the victim’s families. I pray for strength to them at this difficult time. I share in their grief and sorrow,” he said.
While condemning the brutal killings, Omar said that no words are strong enough to condemn the dastardly acts of violence. “Such deplorable acts only leave behind a trail of pain and suffering. No amount of condemnation is enough to censure such acts of violence. Even the words of condemnation after such attacks sound hollow. This is the handiwork of enemies of peace and humanity. May all those who have fallen prey to the wanton act of barbarism find eternal peace. I also pray for fortitude to bereaved families to bear the inconsolable loss,” he said.
Mehbooba Mufti said: “Condemn the killing of Shri M L Bindroo who chose to stay back in Kashmir even during peak insurgency. Such acts of violence have no place in our society. May his family find the strength to deal with this loss.”
CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has condemned the brutal killing of Makhan Lal Bindroo, owner of Bindroo pharmacy in Srinagar.
“Late Bindroo stayed here in trying and difficult times and continued his service to the locals despite odds,” he said, adding, “It was a household name in Kashmir. His unfortunate death has sent shock waves. No words to condemn such a heinous and shameful act. This is indeed an irreparable loss for the whole society. We share the grief and sorrow of his shattered family.”
Expressing deep shock and grief over three civilian killings that took place in a few hours in Kashmir, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari termed the incidents as extremely barbaric, reflecting the inhuman nature of perpetrators behind these attacks.
In a statement issued here, Bukhari condemned the killings of M.L Bindroo, a well-known pharmacist store owner in Lal Chowk, a non-local street vendor Virender Paswan from Bihar and another civilian identified as Mohammad Shafi from Shahgund Hajin area of Bandipora districts who were shot dead in cold blood.
