Srinagar, Jan 25: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday visited Gulmarg following complaints regarding snow clearance and disruption in power supply, assuring that the situation is steadily improving.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said the recent snowfall would significantly boost winter tourism and also help prevent water shortages during the summer months. He acknowledged that power availability had dipped temporarily due to the heavy snowfall but said restoration efforts were underway and the situation was returning to normal.
“The ski lift service will resume shortly, and unlike last year, the adequate snowfall this season should ensure the smooth conduct of the Khelo India Games,” Omar Abdullah said.
He added that the administration is closely monitoring essential services in tourist destinations to ensure minimal inconvenience to visitors and local residents during the peak winter season. (KINS)
