Ganderbal, Jan 30: BJP General Secretary (Organisation) for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Ashok Koul, addressed a VB-GRAM G workshop at the Ganderbal Town Hall, where he strongly criticised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the National Conference (NC) government for being disconnected from ground realities, particularly during the recent spell of severe snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir.
Koul said that while people in several districts suffered due to lack of timely relief, road connectivity, and essential services during snowfall, the present government remained indifferent to public hardships and CM Omer Abdullah was enjoying skiing in Gulmarg. He accused the Chief Minister of neglecting Ganderbal district, despite having received a massive mandate from the people of the constituency.
“The people of Ganderbal gave Omar Abdullah a huge mandate, yet the district continues to be ignored while he enjoys comfort and luxury,” Shri Koul remarked, adding that such governance reflects the NC government’s failure to stand with people in times of crisis.
He urged party workers to strengthen grassroots connect through programmes like VB-GRAM G, ensuring that public issues are highlighted and addressed effectively. Several senior BJP leaders, including party General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan, State Secretary Arif Raja, Mudasir Wani young Leader and Co-incharge all cells Bilal Ahmad Parray, State Executive Member Mohammad Amin Shah, District President Gh Hassan Rather, other leaders along with party workers and local representatives, were present during the workshop.
