Jammu, Feb 21: BJP Spokesperson and Convenor, International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta, Saturday launched a blistering attack on the Congress party over the disgraceful disruption created by Youth Congress workers during the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
Gupta said that at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was leading India’s emergence as a global technology powerhouse, Congress chose to indulge in chaos and theatrics aimed solely at embarrassing the nation before the world.
“What unfolded inside the summit venue was not democratic dissent. It was a calculated, premeditated attempt to tarnish India’s image in front of global leaders, technology pioneers, investors and innovators. When the world gathered to witness India’s leadership in Artificial Intelligence and digital innovation, Congress workers chose chaos over country and disruption over dignity,” Gupta said.
He termed the episode a “National Shame” and asserted that this was not an isolated outburst but part of a consistent and dangerous political pattern.
“Time and again, Congress leaders have stepped onto foreign soil to question India’s democratic institutions, cast aspersions on our judiciary, doubt our electoral process and undermine our constitutional framework before international audiences. They have repeatedly stalled Parliament to block reforms and weaken governance. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they attempted to undermine India’s vaccine capability and spread fear at a time when national unity was required,” Gupta stated.
Gupta further recalled the Congress party’s conduct during the historic G20 Delhi Summit, hosted under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Even during the G20 Summit in September 2023, when India successfully brought global powers to a consensus and elevated the voice of the Global South, Congress could not rise above petty politics. Instead of celebrating India’s diplomatic triumph, its leaders dismissed the summit as mere ‘event management’ to boost the Prime Minister’s image,” Gupta said.
He noted that senior Congress leaders publicly attacked the Delhi Declaration, questioned India’s diplomatic stance on the Ukraine conflict, alleged hypocrisy on environmental commitments, and attempted to manufacture controversy over the use of ‘Bharat’ in official invitations.
“When the world applauded India’s leadership, Congress searched for negativity. When India secured global consensus, Congress searched for criticism. When India stood tall diplomatically, Congress tried to cut it down domestically,” Gupta asserted.
He said the same mindset was visible at the AI Impact Summit 2026.
“The AI Summit was not a BJP programme — it was a national platform showcasing India’s technological capabilities, innovation ecosystem and future vision. But for Congress, political hostility has become more important than national interest. Their frustration with India’s rising global stature is turning into open hostility toward India’s achievements,” he said.
Gupta added that leadership defines behaviour. “When senior leaders repeatedly diminish India abroad, their workers feel emboldened to create scenes at home that damage the country’s prestige. Opposition is a democratic right, but defaming India on the global stage is not. Congress has crossed that line repeatedly.”
Calling upon the Congress leadership to apologise unconditionally, Gupta said the people of India are watching.
“India is rising as a global technology leader, an economic force and a diplomatic power. The world respects India’s growth, stability and innovation.
Congress may continue its politics of disruption and desperation, but the people of
India will not forgive those who attempt to defame their own nation for narrow political survival,” he concluded.
