Director SEK reviews post-winter reopening arrangements

Srinagar, Feb 25: Following the reopening of schools for classes 9th to 12th across the Kashmir Division, the Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, Wednesday convened a high-level meeting of all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Kashmir division to review the ground arrangements and assess the overall scenario after the winter break.
During the meeting, the Director undertook a detailed review of the basic facilities at the grassroot level and sought comprehensive reports regarding school visits conducted on the first day of reopening. He emphasized the need for effective monitoring and coordination to ensure that all institutions are fully prepared to provide a safe, welcoming and academically conducive environment for students.
The Director issued clear directions to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for students of classes 1st to 8th, who are scheduled to attend schools on Monday following the winter vacation. He directed all CEOs, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Cluster Heads to conduct intensive visits to schools on Monday, personally welcome the students, and oversee the arrangements on the ground.
The Director stressed that every school must be covered through field visits and that officers should interact directly with students to understand and address their concerns. He instructed that any issue raised at the institutional level must be resolved promptly to ensure the smooth commencement of the academic session 2026.
During the meeting, he directed all the CEO’s to conduct review of their respective districts with respect to verious issues highlighted in the meeting.
On the occasion, the Director School Education Kashmir stated, “Our collective endeavour must be to ensure that every child returns to a well-prepared, secure and academically vibrant school environment. Field-level monitoring and timely redressal of issues shall remain our top priority to guarantee a smooth and successful academic session.”
Joint Directors of the School Education Department, Chief Accounts Officer and Additional Secretary, Legal DSEK also attended the meeting and apprised the chair of the progress of ongoing activities.
