Srinagar, Feb 26: The Jammu & Kashmir government has appointed Inam Ul Haq Siddiqui, a former senior KAS officer, as the Ombudsman with a mandate to oversee grievance redressal in the key districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal, which include the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s constituency.
According to Government Order No. 61-JK (RD&PR) of 2026 issued Thursday, the appointment leverages Siddiqui’s distinguished three-decade career in public administration. An official statement highlighted that his vast experience is expected to “reinforce transparency, fairness, and effective grievance redressal mechanisms” in the assigned regions.
Siddiqui’s career includes pivotal roles such as Additional Secretary to the Government, Chief Executive Officer of the Gulmarg Development Authority, and Project Director for the Governor’s Grievance Cell, where he was instrumental in strengthening accountability and governance delivery. He has also been associated with World Bank-funded projects, contributing to financial oversight and land records modernization.
His expertise is further bolstered by advanced professional training in Management Information Systems from the University of East Anglia, UK, and specialized training with the Department of Space, Hyderabad.
Recognized for his integrity and result-oriented governance, Siddiqui is a recipient of the prestigious Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Honesty, Integrity, and Meritorious Public Service.
