Srinagar, Mar 3: A joint meeting was convened in Shopian by the District Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police with members of civil society and religious leaders in view of recent developments.
The meeting focused on ensuring the maintenance of peace and public order in the district. Participants discussed measures aimed at maintaining calm and preventing the spread of rumours.
The officers appealed to the public to uphold communal harmony and act responsibly during the sensitive period. They emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between the administration, police and community stakeholders to safeguard stability.
Civil society representatives assured full cooperation with the district administration and police in maintaining peace and fostering an atmosphere of harmony.
