Customers across Kashmir fail to make transactions after JK Bank suffers outage

Srinagar, Oct 11: After facing frequent snags in its mpay application, Jammu Kashmir Bank faced an outage in almost every branch on Monday leaving customers huff and puff.
Customers were unable to make payments or access their accounts.
A bank official said that it became aware of the outage shortly after the branches opened for normal work. He said technical staff is on job to resolve the problem.
Scores of customers were seen waiting at the Residency Road Brach of Jammu Kashmir Bank here in Srinagar. Almost all the customers left the bank disappointed as they failed to make any transactions.
“I was here to withdraw the cash, but the employees informed that system is not working. I tried to withdraw the cash from ATM but the Teller Machine was also out of order,” said Muhammad Abbas.
Pertinently, mpay application of the bank face frequent problems much to the disappoint of customers.
Another customer said that this is not a good sign while the customers expect better from the bank.
Another bank official declined to comment on the outage issue.
Some customers took to social media networking sites to complain about the outage, calling the delay in solving the issue “not good enough”.
Sources said that bank faced outage across Kashmir Valley. All the customers visiting the bank branches left without entering into transaction. “I am Tulmulla Ganderbal and here too system is out of order and we are unable to make any transactions,” said a customer Abdul Lateef.
Pertinently, earlier Bank had informed that during the intervening night of October 8 and 9, no services will be available on JK Banks ATM, Debit Card Services, mpay, UPI, and NEFT / RTGS. (KNT)
