Srinagar, Mar 15: Three old rusted mortar shells were found during excavation work for the construction of a bridge at Mahrajpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s on Sunday, officials said.
A senior police officer said that a Jammu and Kashmir Police team rushed to the spot after receiving information about the shells discovered during the digging work, he said.
The shells were later recovered safely by the police, and further necessary procedures were initiated to ensure safety in the area, he added. (KNC)
