Kulgam, Mar 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam Monday chaired a meeting to review the functioning of the power sector in the district and assess the progress of works being carried out under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
During the meeting, the DC took a detailed review of the status of ongoing projects, infrastructure upgrades, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening the power distribution network in the district. He was apprised by the concerned officials about the progress achieved under the scheme, including installation of smart meters, augmentation of distribution infrastructure, and measures being taken to reduce power losses.
The DC emphasized the need for effective implementation of the scheme to ensure reliable and quality power supply to consumers. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the ongoing works under RDSS and ensure that all targets are achieved within the stipulated timelines.
He also stressed the importance of close coordination among departments and called for prompt redressal of public grievances related to electricity supply.
He instructed officials to regularly monitor field-level progress and ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the people in a timely manner.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Malik Suhail, SE, KPDCL, Executive Engineer and other officers.
