Srinagar, Apr 6: Bharatiya Janata Party Monday celebrated its foundation day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the party office in Srinagar.
The day marks a significant milestone in Indian political history, as the BJP was formally established on April 6, 1980. Since its inception, the party has grown from a modest political force into one of the largest political organizations in the world, guided by the principles of nationalism, good governance, and inclusive development.
On this occasion, party leaders reflected on the ideological roots of the BJP, which trace back to the legacy of leaders like Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, who emphasized “Integral Humanism” and self-reliant development. The foundation day serves as a reminder of the party’s journey, struggles, and achievements over the decades. The celebration at Jawahar Nagar began with the ceremonial hoisting of the party flag, followed by the national anthem. Leaders and workers gathered in large numbers, showcasing unity and dedication towards the party’s mission.
Several senior leaders including Dr Darakshan Andrabi, State General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan, State Secretary Arif Raja, Chief Spokesperson Altaf Thakur, Co-incharge Sajad Ali Raina, Senior leader Shalinder Singh, Mohammad Aqeel Khan and others were present during the celebration. They addressed the gathering and highlighted the party’s growth, achievements, and its role in shaping modern India.
Speakers on the occasion emphasized that the BJP has consistently worked for the upliftment of all sections of society, with a focus on development, transparency, and grassroots empowerment. They also called upon party workers to strengthen the party at the booth level and continue serving the people with commitment and sincerity. The event concluded with a renewed pledge by party members to uphold the ideals of the BJP and contribute towards nation-building, followed by distribution of sweets among the attendees, marking a vibrant and meaningful celebration of the party’s foundation day.
