Anantnag, Apr 8: On his first day in Anantnag after his posting from Udhampur, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amod Ashok Nagpure addressed the media and outlined his priorities for the district, focusing on public cooperation and action against drugs.
The SSP said that strengthening the fight against drugs will be a primary focus. He stated that drug abuse is affecting the community and called on people to support the police in making Anantnag a drug-free district.
“I appeal to the people of Anantnag to support us in the fight against drugs. This will be our main priority,” he said.
He also announced that the SSP office will remain open to the public on all working days without the need for prior appointments. Citizens can visit the office with complaints, grievances, or suggestions and meet senior officers directly.
“There will be no visiting hours or appointments. Any person can come to the office on any working day and meet me or other officers,” he said.
The SSP shared his contact number 7051000999 and said it will remain available round the clock for the public. People can call or send messages, including on WhatsApp, to report complaints, emergencies, or share information related to crime, drugs, or terrorism.
“My personal number is available 24 hours. People can share information, and I assure that their identity will be kept confidential,” he said.
He urged citizens to come forward with information and assured them of confidentiality.
The SSP expressed hope that with joint efforts, the district will move towards stability and order. (KNS)
