Pulwama, Apr 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, who is also District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Pulwama Tuesday chaired a meeting at the Administrative Complex Pulwama to review the progress of the ongoing revision of Panchayat electoral rolls in the district.
During the meeting, it was informed that the revision process is being carried out across all polling stations. Special camps are being organized at polling booth locations, where Panchayat Election Booth Officials (PEBOs) along with Booth Level Officials (BLOs) remain available every Saturday and Sunday to facilitate voters in updating the Panchayat electoral roll.
The DC took a detailed halqa-wise review of the progress achieved so far and emphasized the need for maintaining transparency and ensuring saturation in the electoral roll updation process.
Highlighting the importance of 100 percent inclusion of all eligible voters, the DC directed the concerned officers to intensify field-level engagement and conduct door-to-door campaigns to ensure that no eligible elector is left behind.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama (Electoral Registration Officer); Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Pulwama; Deputy District Election Officer, Pulwama; Block Development Officers (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) and Tehsildars.
