Ganderbal, May 4: Following the declaration of results for the high-stakes 2026 Assembly elections, Mohammad Amin Shah, BJP J&K State Executive Member and District Panchayati Election Incharge, has hailed the party’s performance as a “dawn of a new political era” in India.
Congratulating the central leadership, Shah credited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strategic brilliance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the BJP’s historic sweep. With the party securing victories in 2 states and a Union Territory that went to polls including a monumental, first-ever breakthrough in West Bengal Shah described the mandate as a definitive stamp of approval on the “Modi Guarantee.”
The BJP’s surge in West Bengal has been the centerpiece of the results, with the party crossing the 200-seat mark to unseat the Trinamool Congress. Prime Minister Modi hailed the victory as one that “will be remembered forever,” while Amit Shah described it as a tribute to the sacrifices and struggles of party karyakartas.
Echoing these sentiments, Mohammad Amin Shah stated: “The victory in West Bengal is a triumph of democratic values over years of fear and misrule. Under the guidance of PM Modi and the meticulous planning of Amit Shah, the people of Bengal have chosen development over appeasement. This historic mandate proves that no fortress is impregnable when the vision is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
Drawing a parallel to the political climate in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah who is currently spearheading the party’s Panchayati election strategy expressed immense confidence that the “saffron wave” would soon reach the Union Territory.
“The results today have sent a clear message from every corner of the country. Jammu and Kashmir is no different,” Shah added. “The people here have seen the transformation of Bengal and other states under the Modi-Shah leadership. We will recreate these historic results in Jammu and Kashmir. Our grassroots workers are energized, and we are ready to emerge as the single largest force to provide a stable, peaceful, and prosperous future for J&K.”
The mood at the BJP headquarters in Jammu and Srinagar remained electric late into the evening, with party workers celebrating the “Bengal Miracle” as a precursor to their own regional electoral goals in the upcoming polls.
