Srinagar, May 20: A Srinagar-born doctor working at Apollo Hospital in Delhi passed away following a sudden cardiac arrest, prompting grief in medical circles and an appeal for assistance in bringing his mortal remains back to Kashmir.
The deceased was identified as Dr. Syed Azim Razvi, a resident of Nabdipora Hawal area in Srinagar and a surgical oncologist associated with Apollo Hospital, Delhi.
Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan of the FAIMA Doctors Association said Dr. Razvi died in Delhi after suffering a sudden heart attack.
Describing the deceased as a noted and helpful surgical oncologist, Dr. Khan said the news had deeply saddened colleagues and members of the medical fraternity.
“He was very close to me and was a famous and helpful surgical oncologist working with me at Apollo Hospital Delhi,” Dr. Khan said while expressing grief over the doctor’s demise.
Dr. Khan has appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene and facilitate the return of Dr. Razvi’s mortal remains to Kashmir. [KNT]
