Police arrest drug peddler in Handwara

Srinagar, May 30: Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of drugs, J&K Police arrests a drug peddler in Handwara & recovered contraband substance from his possession.
According to a statement, a police team from Police Post Zachaldara during a high-alert naka operation at Turkpora Zachaldara area intercepted & apprehended a suspicious individual.
During his personal search, officers recovered Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus contraband substance from his possession. The accused has been identified as Dawood Ahmad Dar resident of Herpora Handwara.
In this regard, FIR No. 115/2026 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Handwara, and investigation has been set into motion to unearth further links in the narcotics network.
J&K Police remains firmly committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and continues to intensify sustained operations across the district to dismantle the drug ecosystem. (KNO)
