Jammu, Jun 1: Security forces’ massive joint search operation ‘Sheruwali’ to trace terrorists in Jammu’s Rajouri district continued for 10th running day Monday.
An official said that intensive efforts are underway to track terrorist hideouts and strengthen security in the dense forest region.
The operation is being carried out by the Indian Army in coordination with other security agencies, with surveillance and anti-terror measures continuing in the sensitive border belt, officials said, as quoted by White Knight Corps X.
Amid the ongoing operation, a senior Army commander visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) to review the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness, officials said on Monday.
Lieutenant General P. K. Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, accompanied by the GOC of the Ace of Spades Division, assessed the ground situation during his visit.
The Corps Commander interacted with troops deployed at forward locations and commended them for maintaining high morale, professionalism and dedication under challenging operational conditions, officials said, citing White Knight Corps X.
He reviewed measures undertaken to strengthen surveillance, enhance precision strike capabilities and improve preparedness to meet emerging warfare requirements.
The Army Commander expressed satisfaction with the formation’s operational readiness and steps taken to maintain a robust security posture along the LoC.
Reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, he emphasised the need for continued vigilance and operational excellence to ensure effective domination of the LoC, officials added, as per White Knight Corps X. (KNO)
